Considering the fact that it was my first time ever its not so bad, right?I messed up a few times, had some frustrating moments but on the second class I started to enjoy the hole sewing thing. :) This is what I started on this Saturdays class:

It will be a crochet hook wallet when I finish.I ran out of time so since I don't have a sewing machine at home I will have to finish it next Saturday. It's my own pattern and I'm really satisfied with the way its coming out.I'm already dreaming of getting my own machine...
And Móric is just too lazy to care.

Fabric Scrap Brooch Tutorial

I always save tiny scraps of fabric I like in hope that I will come up with an idea on how to use them.Well here it is. :)
If you are the same and have some pretty scraps of fabric saved up,you have everything you need to make these cute brooches.
Go crazy with the pattens, shapes and colors. :) Its fun and addictive.

You will need:
-scraps of fabric you like
-needle and thread
-scissors
-cotton wool
-brooch pins or safety pins

Step1
Cut three circles from your fabric of choice. And cut a circle from the fabric scrap with the pattern.I used an unvanted cupcake patterned shirt and an old pajama bottom for the patterns. :)

Step2
Sew the patterned fabric on the smallest circle.I used a blanket stitch.

Step3
Now sew it on the middle sized circle.I used up a piece of a spider web patterned bandanna.

Step4
This is the last circle now,the base.Put a layer of cotton wool between the two circles of fabric. This will give the brooch a fuller look.

Step5
Now you just need to sew or glue your brooch pin on the other size and your done!

Optional
If you don't have a brooch base like I did, just use a safety pin instead.Cut a piece of felt a sew it over the safety pin.

That was easy! :)

Old pictures in an old book

I got my new book shelves from my dad yesterday.

And as I was cleaning my books, some old pictures fell out of one of them.

The orange one is my mom and dad on there wedding. My mom told me they had some problems with the priest, because he taught my moms dress and large hat was too much. :)

The black and white are my Hungarian grandparents and the other picture are my Hungarian great-grandparents(unfortunately I didn't have a chance to meet them).

Weekend Fair Report

The fair was so much fun!And I am happy, because I even sold some of my stuff! :) I sold all of my pouches and a few of the crochet bracelets too. Sadly I didn't sell a single piece of the pendants I made...But the good news is that there will be a Christmas Fair in December. Its in the city where Kinga lives,3 hours by car away from Temerin. The fair is held every year and it lasts for a whole week! :)
So I decided that I will stay at Kinga's and go to the fair at least for 4 days. But I need to make more stuff to sell.
I always taught I'm not brave enough to sell the stuff I make, but now I'm really enjoying it.So why not? :)
Here is our table on the fair:
