Did you know...

...that recycling one glass jar saves enough energy to watch TV for 3 hours?

10 ways to reuse glass jars:

1.for storing beads, buttons, zippers, safety pins or any craft supplies
2.pour candles and wick in them
3.decoupage or paint them and use them as vases (I do this to glass bottles too)
4.make a Christmas tree from Fimo, glue it on the inside of the lid, fill the jar with water and glitter, put the lid on and you have a snow globe for the holidays.
5.wrap some yarn on the jar, leave out only small parts-if you put a candle in it it will make beautiful reflections on the wall in the dark.
6.use them for storing dried herbs, spices or tea
7.fill them with color pencils and the kids will love it.
8.attach some hangers from wire, put some candles in each jar and hang them in the garden
9.make some homemade marmalade and re-fill the jars
10.draw or glue some animal faces on the lids, add a magnet to the back and use them as fridge magnets.

Here are some of my glass bottle projects on Cut Out and Keep, you can find the tutorial here.

Yesterday I made a weaving loom. The first one was made from a piece of wood I found laying around in the garage, but it was too small.I made a bag and a make up pouch on it:

I used some old T-shirts,dresses,stockings and even an old bathrobe.(the pink in the make up bag)
But,I want to make some rugs for the bathroom and my room.So I went hunting for a bigger loom material. So I made one from the old kitchen cabinet door. Its perfect!
I made half of a backpack, hopefully Im finishing it tomorrow.
The problem is,by the time I finish one project I already have another one planned out...

What`s up with repair guys?!

Seriously...Does every repair guy have an evil little repair guy sitting on their shoulder telling them not to fix stuff in time?
I burned down the adapter/charger thing for my laptop three weeks ago.The power went off in the house and I had to switch it back on by hand.I forgot to plug the laptop before I did that,so I returned to a stinky room and a smoking adapter.Blaah...
Joci swore he could fix it,but as usual he opened it and didn`t know to put it back together. The four DVD players laying around ripped apart should gave me a hint on how "the man" fixes things...
So here comes the lovely repair guy in picture.
He said he can fix it in two days! Its been THREE WEEKS now!
Today, when I called (again) he tells me he knew the first time I brought it in that he cant fix it,I should buy a new one!
Why on earth say you can fix it if you knew you cant?!
Did his repair man ego stop him from admitting he cant?Or was it the evil little repair guy?

She bought all this when she was my age and worked in a fabric store. She said fabric was so cheap then,it was near the price of one bread.
And now that I started weaving some bags she gave them to me.I made a loom from an old kitchen cabinets door.:) Now that`s recycling! :)

Oh,the possibilities I see in all this beautiful fabric...

Flea market treasures

I love going to the flea market. And thank god my mom loves too, because Joci hates when I start to bargain... :) So he refuses to come with me.But he loves when I bring home gifts for him.Men... :)
Mostly I check out the tiny treasures and the bags first.I love to buy old, hideous bags to revamp. We have a flea market every Saturday in Novi Sad (a city 20 minutes away from Temerin) and a mop fair on the last Sunday of every month, here in Temerin.
I couldn`t go this Sunday,so my mom brought me home these lovely vases.

The black-orange one is ceramic and the brown one is wooden. The pattern on it is hand carved.
I plan to collect a few of different tiny vases for decoration.
Thank you mom! :)
